Anxiety Relief

Naturally

by
Nisha Kumar

It's natural to feel anxious, but where are the saber tooth tigers? Today, our modern day tiger is 9-to-5 Zoom fatigue and context switching due to our new normal.

If you've been curious about Ayurveda but not sure what it is, you're in luck. In Dec 2020, we had a conversation with Dr. Nisha Kumar, ND to learn how to manage anxiety through the lens of Ayurveda.

Inspired, we're sharing highlights from the experience.

*Scientific Research

A recent publication on Ayurveda and COVID-19, 2020, talks about psychoneuroimmunology, which explains how stress and emotional disorders can modulate the immune response to infection, and lists interventions recommended by Ayurvedic specialists and published by the Government of India.

Why Ayurveda?

This pandemic has led to rising rates of mental distress including symptoms of anxiety, which could put us at higher risk for developing respiratory infections. The research* shows effects of Ayurveda as an immune booster is compelling and we think it's worth exploring.

Ayurveda is an Indian system of medicine. This ancient practice is an intricate system that stems from the idea that everyone has their own unique constitution (Dosha), and describes ways to bring the body back into balance.

Anxiety is said to be caused by an imbalance of the Vatta Dosha, the elements of air and space. If this pique your curiosity, come join us for what will prove to be an enlightening experience.

Starting with Yoga and Ayurveda, I became a licensed and registered Naturopathic Doctor and has been practicing since 2013. As my practice continues to evolve I find myself discovering and re-discovering new realms of health and well-being. I have a holistic approach to wellbeing and the modalities that I'm most passionate about are Yoga and Ayurveda, Botanical Medicine, Acupuncture, Human Design, Theta Healing and Lifestyle Medicine.

I have been helping my clients guide and manage their energy, thoughts, beliefs and actions for greater clarity, health, peace and prosperity in all areas of life and I am honored to be able to do the work I do.
